In the past six years as your state representative, I have been focused on practical results for Montgomery County families, including public education, safer neighborhoods, mental health and addiction services, affordable child care, workforce development and support for seniors, veterans and military families.
As a wife, mother, small business owner and State Representative, Andrea White brings both private-sector and public-service experience to the Statehouse. Her focus is on working across the aisle, solving problems and delivering measurable results for the families and communities she represents.
ANDREA’S PRIORITIES & RECORD
Protecting Kids & Helping Families Thrive
Children and families at the center of her legislative work.
She has led efforts to increase penalties for human trafficking, strengthen protections for minors from harmful and obscene online content, improve access to affordable child care and bring additional resources to mental health and addiction prevention and recovery.
During her time in the legislature, she has prioritized child-abuse prevention, parenting resources, infant mortality, human trafficking and childhood safety.
Supporting Public Schools & Preparing Students for the Future
Andrea White voted for record state funding for public schools and career-technical education: $700 million in new funding for Ohio public schools, while emphasizing that funding should reach classrooms and schools should remain focused on their core educational mission.
She has worked tirelessly to expand career training, credentials and educational opportunities so students and adults can develop skills for the workforce.
Making Child Care More Affordable & Accessible
As the chair of the joint chair of a state child-care study committee, she has worked with a statewide group on recommendations designed to expand access to quality child care and sustain publicly funded assistance so more Ohioans can enter the workforce.
This is bipartisan effort to improve access to affordable, quality child care for Ohio’s current and future workforce.
Safe Neighborhoods & Support for First Responders
During her time in the legislature, she has voted to support police and first responders, provide training and resources to address violent crime, protect victims and strengthen criminal accountability.
Mental Health, Addiction Prevention & Recovery
As state representative, she has devoted additional resources for mental-health treatment, addiction prevention and recovery, as well as work with local coalitions responding to the opioid epidemic and substance misuse.
Lowering Costs & Supporting Ohio Families
She has also supported tax cuts intended to allow Ohioans to keep more of their income.
Jobs, Workforce & Economic Opportunity
Education, child care and workforce development are all interconnected. She has worked to expand skills and credential opportunities, helping working-age Ohioans compete for jobs, improving child-care access so parents can participate in the workforce and bringing investment into the community.
Additionally, she has worked to increase home ownership as part of her bipartisan workforce- related agenda.
Supporting Seniors, Veterans & Military Families
Andrea has also focused on family-friendly policies and education reforms designed to help military children remain on track when moving into or out of Ohio.
This includes telehealth and access to speech and hearing services for children, seniors and residents of underserved communities.
